Educator Support
“A paradigm revolution is not something created or sold. It arises to meet a need in the existing climate”
Dr Stuart Shanker
Our world is changing. There are increasing numbers of children facing challenges in areas such as gross and fine motor skills, social interaction and emotional development. But what lies beneath the challenges we are seeing? What is the common thread? Self Regulation.
I believe that:
-
ALL learning occurs within relationships.
-
Children must feel a sense of safety and connection in order to learn.
-
Self-regulation is the foundation from which all other areas of development can integrate and is woven into all routines, activities and aspects of daily life.
-
Connections are key to self-regulation - as caregivers, it starts with us.
-
Self-regulation is an individual process - we each belong to unique environments and relationships with our own stressors and strategies.
My educator support aims to
-
Embed practices into routines and YOUR environment
-
Inform practice through critical reflection
-
Shape practice through meaningful engagement with families and/or the community
I work with early childhood services and schools to support educators to deepen their understanding of self-regulation and sensory processing and their impacts on children's behaviour and development. We consider the environment, programming,
and co-regulation through relationships with the aim of embedding knowledge and strategies into the way we work with children.
Let's gather some information about your environment, your strengths, areas of challenge and needs. We can then discuss your goals and how we can support you, tailoring a package to meet the needs of your staff.
Services can be accessed through a number of funding sources. I am more than happy to offer an itemised quote and description of services to meet any funding requirements or to support grant applications.
